I Am Thankful For My Umbrella

This is an Okapi. Doesn't he look neat? The velvet-like coat is generally dark chestnut-brown or purplish red in colour, with distinctive pattern of horizontal stripes, much like those of a zebra, on the upper legs. The okapi is active during the day, using fixed, well-trodden paths through the jungle. He lives near water throughout the Ituri Forest in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He weighs between 462-550 pounds and his tail is 12 to 16 inches long! He will live for up to 30 years!
